BlueJay play original Rock, Blues and Grooves the only way they know how: with massive high energy riff driven anthemic tunes that’ll get your head and your feet moving. This North Devon based band fuse their surf culture background with years of experience to create an explosive show blending their own original songs with classic crowd favourites reworked the BlueJay way. Formed in 2015 as a 3 piece recording project “Deep Water” laid the foundations, the band quickly expanded to a 5 piece recording and live blues-rock machine. Lead guitarist and songwriter Julien “Dr Rock” explains, “I just wanted to play great riffs, with catchy hooks, in an original way. It was pretty clear early on that those that loved classic rock, loved our sound and those that loved to dance loved our energy and groove.” Local gigs, festivals and being featured on BBC Introducing SW, have followed. The band continued to add to their recorded catalogue with 3 further EP’s, “Cold Star”, “Picking Up the Pieces” and “Are You Having Fun”: showing their versatility, song writing skill and growing confidence. Their latest EP “Prime”, demonstrates that they are fast becoming masters of their craft. Driving riffs, pounding drums and bass, soaring solos and a surprising subtlety of lyric hidden inside the incredible vocals make this band a force to be reckoned with. BLUEJAY have honed their on stage presence and energetic performances in pubs, clubs, parties, and festivals around Devon. This band will leave you in no doubt that they can rock.
